  • John was most recently responsible for RBCx's data-driven thought leadership on the VC industry, broadly. John joined RBCx after having held various roles in corporate development, revenue operations, and go-to-market at select growth-stage technology companies in both Canada and the United Kingdom.

John Rikhtegar

  • Kerri was CFO of Carbon Engineering, a Direct Air Capture climate solutions company, until November 2023 when Oxy Low Carbon Ventures acquired all remaining equity of the company for US $1.1 billion in cash. During her time at CE, CEs common share value increased more than 8X and the company financed and commenced construction of its first commercial scale plant at more than US $1 billion.

Kerri Fox

  • Stuart is the founder of ecobee, a smart home technology company he launched in 2007 to advance energy efficiency and sustainability. ecobee introduced the world’s first Wi-Fi–connected smart thermostat in 2009 and has since helped North American customers save more than 28 TWh of energy. In 2021, ecobee was acquired by Generac Power Systems in a transaction valued at up to US $770 million.

Stuart Lombard

  • Prior to Active Impact, Mike worked for over 25 years in various executive roles for award winning companies, including as President of Traction Rec and COO at Traction on Demand. Prior to that President of Randstad Professionals running $300M in revenue. Mike's greatest expertise is in enterprise sales, building high performing teams, improving operational efficiency and execution. He is a board director for several Active Impact portfolio companies and is a mentor/EIR at CDL Vancouver Climate.

  • Sarah brings over a decade of venture capital and company-building experience, with deep expertise in scaling early-stage ventures, venture financing, and entrepreneurial team development. At Pangaea, she works closely with PolySpectra, Correlia Biosystems, pH7, ChEmpower, and Membrion, while actively mentoring founders and championing startup community growth.

sarah applebaum

  • Ka-Hay brings nearly two decades of experience across venture capital and impact investing to NorthX, where she leads investment strategy, portfolio development, and capital mobilization.

    Before joining NorthX, Ka-Hay held leadership roles in corporate venture and impact funds cross Canada and international markets. Her work has focused on deploying  early and growth stage capital into climate solutions, impact measurement and managing portfolio performance. She is known for helping institutions move beyond individual deals to build durable investment models that deliver financial and impact returns. 

    At NorthX, Ka-Hay is focused on driving investments that cut emissions, scale Canadian climate hard tech companies, and help build the supply chains and industries needed for a competitive low-carbon economy.

  • A veteran Bay Area executive and investor, Marty Reed moved to Vancouver in 2015 to launch Evok Innovations, a novel approach to corporate innovation, bringing Silicon Valley’s start-up and venture capital mindset into corporate R&D and innovation. As Founding Partner, Marty leads the firm’s efforts on strategy, team building and
    investments.


    Marty is on the board of several Evok portfolio companies, including Sanctuary, DISA Technologies, MineSenseEkona Power, VEERUM. Marty was previously on the board of DarkVision, which was acquired in 2020 by Koch Engineered Solutions (a unit of Koch Industries Inc.), and was awarded the CVCA Deal of the Year in 2021. Marty is also on the board of CO280, where he is a founder.

    Prior to Evok, Marty was a partner with
    The Roda Group, a Bay Area early-stage venture capital firm focused on clean technology. In that capacity, Marty lead investments and served on the board of directors for Svante, Axine, Gridtential and Carbon Neutral Ag Sciences.

genevieve pinto

  • At Renewal, Genevieve focuses on investments in consumer products and technology, and supporting transactions across the portfolio. Prior to Renewal, Genevieve was a Partner at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, with legal expertise in venture capital, M&A and capital markets transactions. Genevieve holds a BA and LL.B from the University of British Columbia and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2006. Genevieve is active in non-profit and community initiatives, including currently serving on the Board of Directors of the BC Women’s Health Foundation and previously serving as a Director for the YWCA Metro Vancouver. Genevieve was a co-founder of the Raise Collective, an organization dedicated to the development and support of women investors and entrepreneurs, and was named to the Women’s Executive Network 2018 Canada’s Top 100 as an Emerging Leader. Genevieve represents Renewal on the Board of Fresh Prep.

ka-hay law

  • Founded in 2015, Tidal Vision converts seafood waste into chitosan-based solutions for water treatment, agriculture, and advanced materials. Under Craig’s leadership, the company has grown to more than 300 employees across six U.S. states and completed a US $140 million Series B financing. Tidal Vision is scaling chitosan as a platform chemistry to address industrial pollution and resource efficiency challenges.

Craig Kasberg

  • Named to the TIME100 Climate List and the core product, Jetson Air heat pump, named one of TIME's Greatest Inventions of 2025, Stephen turned his talents to climate tech following the sale of North to Google. Jetson was founded to apply software agility to home electrification. Their heat pump solution removes the typical pain points the prohibit mass adoption. Since launch in 2024, the company has scaled to 4 geographies and over $30M run rate.

Stephen Lake

  • Leads the development and commercialization of low-carbon processes for metal extraction and recovery at pH7 Technologies. With more than 15 years of experience across mineral extraction, processing, metal recovery, and wastewater management, he has overseen the development of five processing plants globally from R&D through commercialization. pH7 is advancing scalable technologies to produce green metals with significantly reduced environmental impact.

Mohammad Doostmohammadi

  • Amanda Hall is the Founder and CEO of Summit Nanotech, a Calgary-based technology company building direct lithium extraction (DLE) systems to meet rapidly growing demand from electric vehicles and large‑scale energy storage. Amanda founded Summit to close the gap between lithium demand and responsible, cost-competitive production. Under her leadership, the company has advanced its patented denaLi™ DLE technology from concept through pilot validation to commercial design, with operations spanning Calgary, Denver, and Santiago.

    Before Summit, Amanda spent two decades as a professional geophysicist—work that shaped her systems-level approach to extraction technology and resource development. She is an EY Entrepreneur of The Year® Prairies Winner, a Business Insider Climate Action 30 honouree, and the top innovator in the MaRS Women in Cleantech Challenge.

Amanda Hall

  • Brings more than 30 years of energy sector experience across development, corporate finance, M&A, project delivery, and reservoir engineering. Previously led three energy companies, including Vesta Energy with over US $1 billion in assets. At Rodatherm Energy, he is advancing next-generation geothermal technology toward commercial deployment following an oversubscribed US $38 million Series A — the largest first venture raise for a geothermal startup on record.

  • Co-founded Moment Energy to repurpose retired electric vehicle batteries into reliable, scalable energy storage systems. The company has secured more than US $60 million in equity and debt financing, including a Series A co-led by the Amazon Climate Pledge Fund and Voyager Ventures, to accelerate deployment across microgrids, commercial sites, EV charging, and defence applications.

    Named Fasken's Climate Tech Founder of the Year for 2025 and recognized on Forbes 30 Under 30, Edward is guiding Moment Energy toward its mission of providing universal access to clean, resilient energy and building North America's circular battery economy.

Edward Chiang

  • Jeremy is President and CEO of NORAM Electrolysis Systems Inc. (NESI), a Canadian clean technology company delivering industrial electrochemical solutions for critical minerals and chemical processing. He has spent over 13 years with the NORAM Group, holding roles across electrochemical cell design, process plant development, project management, operations, and business development. He previously led NORAM Engineering’s Electrochemical Technology Division as Business Area Manager and later served as Vice President and COO of NESI following its spinout in July 2022.

Jeremy Moulson

  • Co-founded CO280, which develops carbon removal solutions for the pulp and paper industry. He brings a long track record of scaling and commercializing hard-tech climate technologies, including leadership roles at Axine Water, Evok Innovations, and Nexterra Systems, a global bioenergy systems supplier. He currently chairs the BC Cleantech CEO Alliance and has been recognized with industry awards for leadership in technology and cleantech.

Jonathan Rhone

  • Gavin is a farmer dedicated to advancing food production, driven by a deep reverence for life and the systems that sustain it. His work sits at the intersection of economics and technology, with a focus on agricultural innovation and shaping the future of food. Over his career, he has applied this lens to ag-tech with a singular goal: improving how food is produced and consumed. He co-founded Maia to scale mushroom-based ingredients as a next frontier in food, and now leads the company’s vision and financial strategy as it builds toward becoming a leading global food and ag-tech company.

GAVIN SCHNEIDER

  • Mike is the President of Cascadia Windows, the North American leader in energy-efficient fiberglass windows. Under his leadership, Cascadia has scaled its Canadian manufacturing operations to a team of over 150 employees and won numerous national and international green building product awards. In September, Cascadia closed a large strategic growth financing to expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen their leadership position across North America.
